To build this list, we started with Voyica's temperature filter. Then we removed every city where October falls in a rainy, monsoon or typhoon season. The practical tip: the İZBAN commuter train runs south toward Selçuk, so you can do Ephesus as a cheap day trip without a tour. Buses reach the beaches at Çeşme in about an hour and a half. 2. Kathmandu, Nepal

   This is the cheapest city on the list. Kathmandu costs about $431 a month, and a one-bedroom outside the centre is about $87. The monsoon has ended, skies clear over the Himalaya and highs are typically around 75°F. One honest caveat: October is peak trekking season, so this is the one entry that isn't uncrowded. Book Lukla flights and teahouses early. Kathmandu also has the lowest safety score here at 58/100. The main issues are traffic, air quality and petty scams, not violent crime. Use ride-hailing apps like Pathao or inDrive rather than flagging taxis. Dashain, Nepal's biggest festival, usually lands in late September or October and closes many businesses for days, so check the 2026 dates.
