Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Vincent Catalano (“Voyica,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a sole proprietor based in Texas, United States, collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use voyica.com (the “Service”).

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide directly

  • Account information: when you sign up, we collect your email address, display name, and a hashed password (or, if you sign in with Google, your Google account email and basic profile data).
  • Profile and preferences: travel preferences, saved destinations, group memberships, and any settings you choose to store.
  • Payment information: if you subscribe to Voyica Pro, payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your full credit card number; we receive only a Stripe customer ID, the last four digits, card brand, and billing country.
  • Communications: the contents of any message you send via our contact form or email.

1.2 Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, approximate session duration, and referring URL.
  • Device data: browser type, operating system, screen size, language, and IP-derived approximate location (country/region).
  • Cookies and similar technologies: we use first-party cookies and localStorage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and operate the Service. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • To authenticate you and secure your account
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions
  • To respond to your support requests
  • To send important account or service notices (you cannot opt out of these while you have an active account)
  • To detect, prevent, and address fraud or abuse
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

3. Service Providers We Use

We rely on the following third-party processors. Each has its own privacy policy governing how they handle your data:

  • Google Firebase (Google LLC) — authentication, database (Firestore), file storage, hosting, and serverless functions.
  • Stripe, Inc. — payment processing for Voyica Pro subscriptions.
  • OpenStreetMap / CARTO — anonymous map tile delivery.

4. Data Retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize personal data within 90 days, except where we are legally required to retain it (for example, payment records for tax compliance, retained for up to 7 years).

5. Your Rights

5.1 EU/UK residents (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the right to: access your data, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, restrict or object to processing, request data portability, and lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Our legal bases for processing are (a) contractual necessity, (b) legitimate interest in operating and securing the Service, and (c) your consent where required.

5.2 California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to: know what personal information we collect, request deletion, correct inaccurate information, opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share for cross-context advertising), and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

5.3 How to exercise your rights

Email vinnie.catalano3@gmail.com from the address on your account. We will respond within 30 days (45 days for CCPA requests). We may require additional verification for sensitive requests.

6. International Data Transfers

We are based in the United States and our service providers (Firebase, Stripe) primarily store data in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures, including TLS encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls on stored data. However, no system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and you use the Service at your own risk.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced by updating the “Last updated” date and, where required, by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
